Tofu, cashew nuts, oat flakes, and spirulina algae make these popsicles a protein bomb! Spinach as a vegetable and banana also contain some protein, especially for being veggies and fruit! These protein popsicles give you plenty of high-quality plant protein as a perfect guilt-free snack after a workout. I’ve even enjoyed them as breakfast during the past hot days. Don’t worry. They taste neither like spinach, tofu, or seaweed. They have a refreshing lemony taste.
Ingredients for making Protein Popsicles:
- Spirulina alge powder
- Oat flakes
- Cashews
- Coconut milk (full-fat)
- Dates
- Silken tofu
- Banana
- Spinach
- Lemon (organic)

The overall size of my popsicle mold is 21 x 14 x 10cm (8,2 x 5,5 x 3,9inch), and the capacity of each popsicle mold is 75 ml. It allows you to make 12 delicious popsicles at once.
If you buy spirulina powder, make sure that it does not contain any additives. Spiruline, Spirulina, algae Cyanophyceae Spirulina, Spirulina platensis, or Arthrospira platensis are what we are looking for.
How to make Protein Popsicles:
Preparation (One Evening before):
First, take the natural cashews and soak them in 90ml of water overnight.
And while we’re at it, we take care of oat flakes and dates, too. Soak the rolled oats and the pitted and roughly chopped dates overnight in the coconut milk so they are easier to blend on the next day. To do this, take a bowl, add the oats and dates, and pour in the coconut milk. Leave both bowls in the fridge.
Make the Creamy Liquid for the Popsicles:
Firstly, take the spinach out of the freezer and let it defrost. Now, take one of the organic lemons, grate the zest on a zester, and put it straight into the blender. Then, squeeze the juice from both lemons and pour it in.
Drain the water from the soaked cashews and put them in the blender. Add the oat flakes-dates-coconut milk mixture, and now puree everything to a creamy consistency. Then add the chopped banana, silken tofu, defrosted spinach, and spirulina algae powder and blend again until smooth.
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, add popsicle sticks, and freeze overnight. Now, you are ready to enjoy a super healthy protein popsicle!

Notes
If you want to store your frozen popsicles for another day, just put them in a zipper bag and pop them in the freezer! You can also buy small cellophane bags (plastic-free, food-safe and biodegradable) so you can wrap each popsicle individually before putting them all in a zipper bag.
