Simple Yogurt Tahini Dip

A perfect dip doesn’t need to be complicated. This simple yogurt tahini dip is the perfect example. This dip only requires four ingredients and is super delicious. It makes a perfect addition for falafel wraps, as a condiment for salads, or with potatoes. You can even snack it with chips or fresh veggies for a barbecue or during a lazy evening in front of the TV. Let’s make ourselves a nice vegan yogurt tahini dip!

Ingredients for making Yogurt Tahini Dip:

Ingredients for yogurt tahini dip in little bowls (Soy yogurt, tahini, lemon, salt)
  • Soy Yoghurt
  • Tahini
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt

Optional addition: Mint, sumac, extra-virgin olive oil or garlic

The ingredient list for this dip is short. I like using soy yogurt as a neutral-smooth plant-based yogurt. Next, we need a nice and smooth tahini, which gives lots of flavor to this dip. To balance the nutty flavor, I like to add some freshly squeezed lemon juice. Some salt to season, and that’s all there is to it!

This baseline recipe yields an already delicious creamy dip. If you want to take it to the next level, introducing some extra flavor is the way to go. Mint and sumac go super well together here. Extra-virgin olive oil is another healthy, flavorful addition. Also, a finely crushed fresh clove of garlic (just use a small one – it can get very pungent) gives so much depth to this dip.

How to make Yogurt Tahini Dip:

Making this yogurt tahini dip is incredibly simple. Combine the yogurt, tahini, and freshly squeezed lemon juice in a bowl. I like to whisk the ingredients together with a fork. Next, season the dip with salt. You can adjust the ratios of this recipe to your personal preferences depending on what you intend to use this dip for. I like it to be heavy on the tahini when making it for falafel wraps, but a bit more yogurty when having it with salads. This recipe is pretty much the middle ground.

This vegan yogurt tahini dip is best enjoyed fresh. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.

That’s all there is to this simple dip. Enjoy, and let me know what you had it with in the comments!
