Have you ever tried pairing fresh green asparagus with puff pastry? It’s a delicious combination that looks fantastic and is easy to make. Impress your guests at your next dinner!

Ingredients

  • 300g green asparagus
  • 275g ready-made rolled puff pastry
  • 100g preen pesto
  • 50ml vegan cream
  • Salt to season

Instructions

Remove the puff pastry from the refrigerator 10 minutes before use.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

Wash and dry the asparagus.

Cut off the bottom end generously, or peel a bit in the lower third and cut off the dry bottom ends.

Roll out the puff pastry and spread the green pesto over the entire surface.

Cut the dough into 2cm (0.8 inch) wide strips from the short side.

Wrap two or three asparagus spears with the puff pastry strips and place them on a baking tray.

Brush the top of the pastry with vegan cream and sprinkle lightly with salt.

Bake in the oven at 200°C (390°F) for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

The dish is best served fresh from the oven!
